THE C HARMONIC MINOR INTERVALS
The harmonic minor scale is similar to the natural minor scale, except for one key difference: the 7th degree is raised by one semitone. This alteration changes the major 2nd interval between the 6th and 7th notes to an augmented 2nd. The intervals in the C Harmonic Minor scale can be observed below. C HARMONIC MINOR MODES
The natural minor scale is identical to the Aeolian mode. If we raise the 7th note of the Aeolian mode, we obtain the harmonic minor scale, which is denoted as Aeolian #7. One of the benefits of modes is that they are interconnected. For example, A Aeolian and B Locrian share the same notes, with the only difference being that B Locrian begins on a B note.
